International Truck of the Year 2012

Mercedes-Benz new Actros

Mercedes-Benz new Actros with 161 points picks up the award for International Truck of the Year 2012. Second place with 67 points was Tatra Phoenix and third place went to Scania Euro 6 with 50 points.

According to the ITOY rules, the annual award is presented to the truck launched in the previous 12 months: "Which has made the greatest contribution to road efficiency in terms of innovation, comfort, safety, drivability, fuel economy and lowering exhaust emissions."

It is the fourth time that the Actros has won the International Truck of the Year award altogether. It's first victory was in 1997 then, with the second generation, it won again in 2004. And in 2009 the third generation Actros made it an impressive triple win for the German truck manufacturer.
