Sprinter voted top of the Safety category in the What Van? Awards
Widely recognised as creating the finest vehicles in their class, Mercedes-Benz has once again been voted as top of the safety category in the What Van? Awards.
Steve Bridge, Van Sales and Marketing Director for Mercedes-Benz UK, said: "As a manufacturer, we have always been the pioneer in setting new standards in terms of driver and pedestrian protection and we are delighted to have won the 2012 What Van? Award for Safety for the second year running.
"Mercedes-Benz has led the way in safety innovations, including creating the airbag in 1980 and launching ESP in 1995, making it standard across our vehicles in 1999. Our vans have however, always gone one stage further and are now using Adaptive ESP which automatically measures the current load condition to react with just the right amount of force to suit the driving situation. This works in conjunction with ABS, disc brakes all round, acceleration skid control, electronic brake force distribution and Brake Assist to ensure that Mercedes-Benz produce vans with safety always as standard."
